Components option grayed out

what project type are you creating?

I am using Adobe Flash Professional cc 2015 to make a quiz for college. I made the designs with Fireworks and import them into Flash.

canvas projects for older animate versions do not have components.

either use an as3 project or update your animate pro to cc 2017.

I'm using HTML. It's on college computer, not mine.

p.s. there are only a handful of useful components like video, list, combobox and datepicker.  the reset are unneeded.

I realised the problem! I need to switch from HTML5 canvas to ActionScript 3.0 as it doesn't support it and WebGL.
