convert text symbols to api drawing coordinates

Basically I want to know how I can export text that I place on the stage in the font and size I select into a vector-based table or list that I can then incorporate into an array of lineTo and curveTo coordinates to draw from actionscript to a clip. I want to draw large headings with actionscript without having to download the required fonts.

Ok, the .ai file export gives me the info. Now, of course, another problem - nice work ADOBE.

Has NOBODY come up with an actionscript function that can draw a cubic bezier curve given the two control points? I've scowered the internet for this simple routine - obviously not simple enough.

penner wrote cubic bezier curve functions more than 5 years ago along with, i believe, quartic and possibly quintic bezier curves.

Yeah, I figured Flash would of, by now, incorporated it into the drawing API. After all, they are exporting it on saving clips.

as3 supports quadratic and cubic bezier equations.
