Creating a transparency mask for my animation

Explorer ,
Nov 20, 2018 Nov 20, 2018

I am attempting to create a transparency mask to cause parts of my character animation to be transparent. Basically, I am trying to create something similar to what is done in this Illustrator tutorial in the first two minutes and forty seconds or so: How to Use Transparency Masks in Illustrator - YouTube , but I need to do it in Animate. I am using an animated character made with an armature combining several graphic symbols.

Thank you for your help.

I am probably off the mark here, but does the section Animate a filled shape, type object, or graphic symbol instance on a mask layer in this article How to use mask layers in Adobe Animate CC offer any insights?

Thanks,

Preran
