empty key frame causing layers to dissaper

I'm new to animate and I am trying to keyframe a simple character. However, I accidentally did something causing the departure keyframe on one layer to turn blank, Which in turn made that entire layer dissapear from the scene. I'm sure its a simple non- intuitive oversight, but Its had me stumped for the better part of an hour.

just undo ctrl-z) the step that caused the problem.

I saved and closed it before noticing and it will no longer let me control Z

Do not use Motion Tweens on Parented Layers.

There are many bugs with this combination and you can experience all kinds of unpredictable behaviour.

If you intend to use Parenting, switch to Classic Tweens. (You may still come across bugs, but fewer.)
