I am trying to update Animate CC 2018, partly in the hope of fixing another problem (Animate is not recognising my iPhone X since updating the firmware of that device, but will still see my iPhone 6 which I have not updated very recently) but also to stay on the latest version. The update is failing with the following messages:
Exit Code: 145
-------------------------------------- Summary --------------------------------------
- 2 fatal error(s), 0 error(s), 3 warnings(s)
FATAL: Error (Code = 145) executing in command 'MoveDirectoryCommand' for package: 'AdobeAnimate18.0-mul', version:18.0.1.115

I have deleted and re-installed Creative Cloud and that makes no difference. I'd delete Animate CC but the files referenced in these messages are not in the Adobe folders but in general components section and I'm concerned that if I delete it without solving this issue I will only compound the problem. Also because I have re-installed CC it doesn't seem to recognise that I still have a version of Animate installed and (largely) working so would need to uninstall some other way which may not clean up the relevant folders and files. I can see as far down the path as AudioDSP but that seems to be an executable not a folder so can't see to the bottom of the path. But in any case the actual errors are to do with a MoveDiretoryCommand and I presume this initial failure is leading to everything else.
I did try to rename the folder temporarily but because it's owned by the system I don't seem to be able to make any changes.
Any thoughts on how to break the loop and update?
I am working on a Mac, OS High Sierra, version 10.13.2.
Thanks
Stephen

uninstall everything cc including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html
then uninstall the cc desktop app, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html
clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
restart your computer (don't skip this)
reinstall the cc desktop app, https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud.
if you're unable to install the cc desktop app at this stage, use an administrator account (solution 3 here, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-missing-damaged.html)
use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

Thanks but as per my original post I am unable to uninstall the apps using the methods mentioned as the CC desktop app is not recognising them as being installed. If I try to uninstall directly I am not convinced that this will remove the offending files as they are in the system section not in the folder for the app. Or will the cleaner app find and remove these files?
Thanks
Stephen

I'm still having problems.
I have looked for the file you have referred to but cannot locate it (and yes I have looked in hidden file and folders). Note on my Mac the application, along with all my Adobe applications are actually in \Applications\Adobe\.... and the folder you have referred to is in \Library\Application Support\Adobe\OOBE\PDAPP\.... but there is no OPM.db file there and I have searched all the user folders as well.
There is a pim.db file but if I remove that (actually renamed it) it forced CC to update itself but did not show Animate as installed and I am no further forward. There are no other .db files in that folder.
As a result of my searches I did see that in the Uninstallers folder (\Applications\Utilities\Adobe Installers\...... I have installers for all the other Adobe products I have installed but not for Animate CC 2018. Is there any way I can download that particular uninstaller and use it directly to remove the app?
Thanks

In addition I have downloaded and installed the cleaner tool but this too has no recognition that Animate CC is present on my computer (it does see all my other Adobe Apps).
Thanks
