Error message when importing MP3

Participant ,
May 05, 2025 May 05, 2025

Hello everyone!

Every time I import an MP3 audio file, this message appears:

"one or more files were not imported because there were problems reading them"

The audio shows up both in my timeline and in the library, so I don’t understand why this message pops up. Does anyone know what it could be?

It's just the message, I found it strange because it had never appeared before

@Willikolho

it's not worth doing anything more than restarting animate and/or your computer.

I've already done this and nothing has changed. It's strange that an error message, which isn't an error, appears like this.

I believe that is not the problem, it is the latest version of the latest update

The source file is probably 48000 hz. Mp3s have to be encoded at a sample rate of 44100 hz to be supported by Animate.

You can change the sample rate in Adobe Audition, or if you don't have access to it, use a free online audio converter tool.

I also thought it would be that and it isn't either, does your animate show this type of message or nothing?

my animate imports without error message whether 48khz or 44.1khz, but there are other problems with 48khz

Then it's something else.

The error message specifically shows up only with 48khz MP3s. Not WAV, OGG or anything else which will still import albeit with issues.

What version are you using? A couple of versions had bugs related to audio import files.

Can you check by going to Help > About Animate?
