Flash Applets to What?

So I was dumb enough when learning Dreamweaver in 2003 to use some of their Flash applets in a web site.  One simply forces a FONT onto a clients screen (The Banner of Course) on each page, controlled by a template.  I have no idea how to accomplish the same thing now that Flash is kaputnik.  Any pointers cheerfully accepted!
