Gif won't stop looping even with actionscript, loop box unchecked, and set to "once" for export

Hi. Im in dire need of help. For my animation, I can't, for the life of me, get the animation to stop looping when I export as a gif. Ive tried everything. I put the

"this.stop();" action in a top layer on the last frame. I toggled and unchecked the loop option in the publish settings. In the export settings, I toggled and set the loop setting to "once". It works fine as an OAM file and stops at the last frame.. but doesnt for a gif. PLEASE HELP.

Hi there,

Sorry for the issues you are dealing with looping GIF even after setting it as once.

I suggest you ave a look at this thread also - Flash CC Publish Animated Gif ignores looping sequences? which might give you some insights.

Also check for the file names and number of frames you are placing in.

Hope this helps.

Thanks!
Ankush

I had the same issue and I finally decided to close out of Animate completely and then restarted the program. That worked for me.

I am not sure you can even stop a gif? I think that is the purpose of the gif is to continue to loop.
