How should I prepare a graphic to import into animate. I have a graphic object which I have imported into Animate, it has four separate elements which I want to add motion to as separate elements. However I am having difficulty in assigning the  separate elements to separate symbols. When I generate the graphic in Photoshop or Illustrator should I save the graphic with layers, or is there something in Animate i'm doing incorrectly.

Yeah. You need your elements separated in layers as you are going to add tween to them.

If you bring the artwork as a PSD or AI, Animate can convert their layers automatically to Animate layers.

If you can't do this:

- Break apart elements in one layer inside of Animate by going to Modify > Timeline > Distribute to Layers (Ctrl + Shift + D / Cmd + Shift + D);

- Ungroup elements going to Modify > Ungroup (Ctrl + Shift + G / Cmd + Shift + G), if your elements are grouped;

- Copy/cut and paste elements
