Hands on tutorial half working?

I am trying to use the hans on tutorials and after a few steps the help screen with the steps disappears. Tried closing and restarting and have tried on a couple of the different tutorials including bouncing ball and animating a doll tutorials.

the online tutorials are more reliable.
