How can I copy and paste rigged character as layer parenting in new file.

I have a character right now which is rigged using layer parenting. So, if I need to copy that character and paste it into a new file, then layer parenting is not working properly, and character body parts get dislocated. How can I resolve this?

Try to nest your rigged character inside a graphic symbol. Copy/paste that container into the new file.

It means to put your layers inside a graphic symbol.

It is considered bad practice to work on the Main Timeline. Everything should always be nested at least one level deep, often more. This allows for all kinds of quick and easy transformations of the containers.

You can nest the layers by selecting them, then right-clicking on any of them and choosing "Convert Layers to Symbol":

Then you should be able to copy/paste that symbol into your new file.

Yes, layers are already in one single graphic symbol, the issue is if I copy this graphic symbol to a new file, the layer parenting (inside graphic symbol) gets affected.  Now, the issue is almost solved but sometimes after pasting in a new file, some symbols like hand or head etc, rotate by themselves. Please see attached file

I see. Most likely this is a bug.

But also: Get into the habit of keyframing everything in vertical columns of keyframes, like you see in my example.

Think of those as poses for the whole body. It's very counter-productive to have your keyframes offset as you show in your pictures and can lead to all kinds of problems.
