How to actionscript movieclip with actionscripts inside it or a "hit" button mask.. it doesn't work

This problem has occured to me many times..(((

In my flash site I have used some actionscripts inside movieclip (which was going to use as buttons using buttons "hit" function ) .. I mean this:

and Later I found out, that such "hit  mask" actionsript doesn't work out... not even converting my movieclip into button and writing actionscripting in it...

I can not remove my actionscripts which are inside them because I really like them

what to do?

I want to do just this:

on(release) gotoandPlay .

I use AS2.
