Really. How do you export audio from Flash? It's a regular problem I have at work. There's audio that needs a word or sentence taken out. I used to be able to select the audio file in the library, then export.
None of the export options work anymore. We've been re-recording audio to accommodate changes, but honestly, that's ridiculous.
I don't need anything fancy - just mp3 audio export.
Anyone know a way to do this?
Thanks,
Elaine
dam thats in 2012 , lol its 2015

Your file is in the library?
You can copy the fla file, then change the extension to .zip
unzip the new file and search your mp3 file.

So I see the mp3 I imported this morning, but none of the others. It looks like the file was originally created in Dec. 2010 - is that why I can't get to the other mp3s?
Is there something I could do to get to the older files?
BTW - thanks for this tip.

Maybe if you copy only the older files to a new fla file, then save it, change the extension to .zip, unzip the new file and search the files.

I think you have something, but it isn't working with just a straight grab and dump into new file.
Thanks a bunch for your help. At least now we've got some options to play with. Our audio guy will be relieved not to have to re-record all the revisions.

Why would you delete the originals? That's the real solution - not having deleted the originals. Which also allows you to use update in the library.

Not my decision. Maybe they didn't have server space. Maybe they didn't worry about it because previous versions of Flash allowed audio export.I don't have a time machine to figure it out.

So as I've played around with the Flash files I have, files converted from CS4 into CS5.5 don't include library items from CS4 in the zip. I've tried several ways of conversion and copying into new files, but haven't gotten any of the library items that were added before CS5.5 to work.
I have my fingers crossed that there's a simple solution.

I am surprised that they took at that AMAZING feature. I too need to export mp3s. And it's not as simple as you think. On the timeline, I have multiple individual MP3s that I want to craft as one mp3. So I cant simply go back to my raw files. I used Flash's timeline to create perfect timing for a new audio file. If this feature is really gone, I will basically lose about 30-60 minutes by trying to open the file in CS4 on my other computer.

Hey there. I just googled this last night. I needed to get an audio file out of an FLA file I built in 2008 (or earlier). I had an original (unedited) version of the audio but for whatever reason the audio file I used in the FLA was MIA. I tried the 'Change the extension to ZIP' thing mentioned above and that didn't work.
Anyway, I dumbed upon a solution. I have MIRO Video Converter installed to convert various video formats to the HTML5 standards. This app also has an audio converter too and I figured I would try using it. I just dropped the SWF in the converter and selected MP3. It took a half a second to 'convert' and there was my MP3 spit out to the desktop.
Hope this helps.

I found this link today since I have the same problem.
http://www.templatemonster.com/help/flash-how-to-export-sound-from-the-fla-file.html
You basically copy the sound file into a new flash project and export the project as a wave file.
Thanks!
