I can't get my object to rotate and follow the motion path at the same time.

I haven't used Flash/ Animate in so many years and need to in order to complete an animation. The only part I'm stuck on now is an annoying little feature that has to be put in. I'm trying to make a compass needle rotate while it is within the circle that is also rotating around another object. Is this feature possible in Animate or will I have to move over to After Effects?

Hi

it sounds like you make one movieclip (1) with the compass needle rotating.

Then you make another movieclip (2) rotating around yet another object.

Then you nest movieclip (1) in movieclip (2).

But maybe you mean something else?

Have you tried using the 3d rotating tool? Also, make sure your registration point is in the middle of the symbol you want spin.
