I can't see my work on animate unless I press the brush tool

I assume there's a button I need to check or box I need to click, but I can't see my work on animate.  I have attached a video to show what I mean.  In the video I make a rectangle and a line nothing happens.  I press the brush tool and I see my work.  I can use the brush tool as expected but then I try to change fill color again nothing happens unless I hit brush tool.  https://drive.google.com/file/d/1w4c-Btdhxom9TgkWLuVj_mpcIvgujprk/view?usp=sharing

What GPU do you have installed? Try updating the gpu drivers and set power management mode to perfomance.
