I am eager to learn this language for web development. Can anyone suggest please!

sure you can learn it.

but you'll have to devote some time and effort to learning it.  a good place to start is with the flash pro help files, Adobe ActionScript 3.0 * Introduction to ActionScript 3.0 and trevor maccauly's tutorials, senocular.com

but there are plenty of other sources which you can google and search amazon.

btw, i highly recommend having flash pro open so when read something, you can test it out.  there's no code you can write that will cause harm so you can try any idea that you can think of.

for me, experimenting is the best way to learn.  that's probably not true of everyone, but i'm pretty sure reading code without writing code isn't going to teach you to write code.
