Increase size of Layer Outlines or Symbol Selection boxes?

Is there a way to increase the point size of Layer Outlines or Symbol Selection boxes? On my retina display they all appear to be 1 pixel which for me is too small for some tasks. They easily get lost on top of a reference image or a busy screen. Yes, I could use a larger point stroke with no fill and avoid the outline function, but that defeats the purpose of the function.

No. They are always 1px or 'hairline' thin.

As a workaround lighten your reference image and choose a darker/more contrasty layer colour for the outline mode.

Unfortunate. With Apple packing more and more pixels into the same physical space 1px is about 400% thinner than it was just a few years ago (probably more like 200%, but still!). One of those, "man, that would be a nice feature" situations. I'll submit a feature request.

It would be nice to be able to customise these settings.
