Hello - I am totally new to animate and wondering if it is possible to shape tween a vector drawing so that it curls up? Including an image here for reference. I am trying to make the alligator curl up into a ball and was curious if there might be an easy way to do this? Thank you for any help you can provide!

bottomline: that would be easier to do frame-by-frame.

longer story: you can use shape tweens with shape hints to control how a shape tweens but you'll need to use several shape tweens to get that and it's unlikely to do exactly what you want.

It may be worth trying to make the alligator into a custom brush and shape tween the stroke.

It will only take a few clicks to try.

Thanks so much! I never even thought of trying it that way. I appreciate the feedback and will give it a shot!

Hi again,

I was curious myself so I did a quick 5-min test.

It seems that with some precision, tweaking and care (which are absent in my test) it may be possible to achieve the desired result using a custom brush and a shape tween of the stroke.

I'd probably separate the legs and keep them each on its own layer as graphic symbols, to animate with classic tweens.
