Keeping a layer at a consistant speed.

Hey all

I was just wondering if there was a way of keeping the speed of a layer consistent with a motion tween  (a non linear one in particular). I want to be able to move my layer around with curves in my motion tween while still having it go the same speed. I understand that there is the time displayed on the timeline but that doesn't help when it comes to how far my layer has traveled. If anyone has a way of making sure the layer moves at the same speed through multiple key frames with motion tweens that are curved, That'd be great.

Thanks
