I am new to Animate and I am trying to use the parenting feature.

I parented a couple of layers just fine but after a couple, I tried to do the rest of my layers and everytime I parent them they just disappear.

I did see another post about this. The row of the layer does turn dark like it's deleted after I parent it just like the other user experienced. I've tried turning the software off and on as well as my computer and checking for updates. I tried turning off auto keyframes. I noticed when I moved the frame to a different spot on the timeline, the parenting worked fine. I tried to experiment in any way trying to compare the completed parented layers with the layers that were disappearing and can't find anything.

Hi, parenting only works with symbols. Make sure each part of your character is a symbol properly placed in its own individual layer.

The character will be pasted on a single layer, so distribute it to layers by right-clicking and choosing 'distribute to layers'. Turn off Scale, Skew and Flip propagation as it can

The character will be pasted on a single layer, so distribute it to layers by right-clicking and choosing 'distribute to layers'. Turn off Scale, Skew and Flip propagation as it can cause layer corruption if more than one symbol is selected at a time. Once done try parenting each part again, any problems?
