Limited characters showing up and able to type

Hello, i have been having issues recently with my trial copy of Flash Professional, the issue is that when I try to input, or output text (i am making a quiz) only a few symbols are actually supported. So for example if I want to type in my name as "Jack" what is shown is "a" because the j,c,k characters just don't respond. Also when I want to output 'name + "your score is:"' all that is output is the incorrect name plus "ae re" so instead of saying "Jack Your score is:" it says "a ae re:".

I haven't played around with any of the settings, all i have used is text boxes and the action scripts.

Whenever you have issues with text not displaying properly in textfields, the first thing to do is to try embedding the font (it is found in the Properties panel for the textfield.  If that fails, try a different font.
