Linking to a website

Does anyone out there know if it is possible to have a link within an animation that transfers a viewer to a website? I have tried on several occasions to do this, but have as yet been unsuccessful.

  1. Select the button or movieclip
  2. Open the Actions panel (Window > Actions or F9)
  3. In the Actions panel, click on the Code Snippets button (it looks like "< >")
  4. In the HTML5 Canvas folder (or ActionScript folder, if that's the type of file you're making), open the Actions folder
  5. Double-click the Click to Go to Web Page action to add it
  6. Set the URL and target in the function--target options are as follows:
    • "_blank" which opens in a new window or tab
    • "_self" which opens in the same frame that was clicked
    • "_parent" which opens in the parent frame
    • "_top" which opens in the full body of the window
