New Here ,
Mar 22, 2021 Mar 22, 2021

Hello folks

I have a rigged character. I have already animated the poses of the character in the main timeline.

Inside the head symbol I have a layer for the head. it's 'blank' without eyes or mouth.

I also have a layer for the mouth and another for the eyes over the blank head layer.

how do I swap the symbols of the mouth and eyes using the frame picker.

Hi mate,

You should 'nest' your mouth positions inside a stopped Graphic symbol.

Each mouth position should occupy one frame inside the mouth symbol.

This will be your mouth container.

Then on the outside at head level, you just create keyframes that match the sounds and in those keyframes you change the current frame shown.

Symbol swapping should be kept to a minimum in character animation.

You can download some sample rig files from here: https://flash-powertools.com/tag/free-download/

and read about how you should structure your characters and FLAs for animation here:
