Does anyone know of any good software that can analyze an audio recording and generate key frames for a character's mouth movements to match it? Preferably something that works well with Animate.

SmartMouth looks like it hasn't been updated in a while. Anyone know if it still works with Animate?

Looks like Justin has updated it based on its description:

"SmartMouth is an Adobe Animate and Flash Pro extension that automatically analyzes vocal audio tracks and adds mouth shapes."

Lip-syncing automatically with SmartMouth in Flash Professional | Adobe Developer Connection

Check out the "Required products" - it lists Adobe Animate CC.

I might give SmartMouth a try, but their licensing fees are pretty atrocious. If you buy it and install it on your computer, you have to buy it again if you get a new computer. It seems like there's no way to transfer the license. And if you ever had to do a clean install of Windows, you would have to buy it again also.

Yes, the fees might seem restrictive, but in practice Justin is really flexible. if you’ve bought licenses from him, he’ll work with you and your circumstances.

i had situations where I had a new computer and wanted to reuse the license from my old installation, and once where a hard drive died taking my license with it. In both cases he issued me renewed licenses after I contactEd him and explained the circumstances,
