List Component Item Sizing

Hi guys,
I have been working on an Android app for a few weeks now but have run into one major issue which is the size of the items in my List component. They appear very small on my Android which isn't very helpful for my app. I have tried scaling the item in the List component movieclip which did nothing. I have searched various websites and have tried other things through Actionscript 3 to try and make each item bigger but all have come up with no answer. Any help on this problem would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. The items in the List component are being brought in through an XML file.

What are the "items" you are talking about that you want to make bigger?  Why wouldn't scaling the List component solve this?

The size of the List component itself is not the issue, it is the size of the listed items inside the component that are very small and barely readable. I can change the text size but that only changes the text size and does nothing in scaling the whole item size itself. Im not sure if that is of any help to be more understandable of the problem.
