movie clips in timeline dont work

im new to animate and dont understand the attached. Create a movieclip id like to loop but it deosnt allow you to place it on the timeline.... i just dont get it

All i want to do is create a looping animation and add it to the timeline..... dont get why i cant

i couldn't tell (and animate couldn't determine) what you were trying to convert to a movieclip, but you can solve the problem and unconfuse animate by creating an empty movieclp, copying the frames/layers you want to convert and paste them into the new movieclip's timeline.

remove/delete those frames/layers from the main timeline if you want to replace them with that movieclip.

ok ive done this..... and it creates it in the library... but when dragging to stage it is only 1 frame long?

gonna go back to the old fashioned way of copy paste ... they just dont work movieclips... only play one frame

double click the library symbol and you'll be taken to its one frame/one layer timeline where you can paste your desired layers/frames.

yes ive done this i have the movieclip.... but when i drag the 3 frame clip to my timeline layer it is one frsame long............
