My animation file seems to have disappeared.

I don't have the working file for my animation anymore. This may not be a problem with Adobe Animate. Maybe it was a mistake I made or it was a problem with my Mac.

-It is in my "Recent projects" list in Animate, but once I clicked on it, a message told me it no longer exists

-I have screenshots of the project and an exported gif of the project all in the folder I expected it to be in, but the working file is not there

-I have used the search function to find it in my Mac, but there are no results

-I have searched iCloud storage and have not found it there

-I have searched the trash and have not found it there

-I have searched ~/Library/[...]/Configurations and have not found it there

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I worked quite hard on it.

do you have an auto-recovery file?

win: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Adobe\<animate version>\en_US\Configuration

mac: Users/<username>/Application Support/Adobe/<animate>/en_US/Configuration/

Hi, thanks for answering, I don't see anything in this folder which looks like an auto-recovery file. I see AutoRecoverFilenames.txt but it is blank.

Yes, but only for 10 minutes. Last time I accessed this file was at least a week ago.

LATEST

the time is how frequently an auto recovery file is created.  (and that time field is editable to save more or less frequently depending on what you want.)

anyway, if it was set for 10 minutes and your fla (that is now corrupt) was, the last time it was able to be opened in animate, open for 10 minutes or longer, there was an auto recovery file created.

open AutoRecoverFilenames.txt and then look in the directory(ies) listed for the file name(s) listed.

all your autorecovery files will be there.
