When attempting to save a .fla file yesterday, I suddenly got a message saying that Adobe Animate was "unable to save the document as 'documentname'". It also told me to change the name or relocate the file but when I clicked out of the message, Animate closed itself and automatically deleted the file both from Recents and my computer itself. I have been unable to find it in the Trash or anywhere else on my computer and I'm questioning if it is a glitch. Nothing like this has happened to any other .fla file I worked on.
(I would show a picture but I didn't have the time to take one before it closed out.)

did you ever successfully save that fla or a version of it?

Copied
No, it all happened immediately as I clicked off the text box. The closest thing is that there is a pathway recorded in AutoRecoverFilenames.txt but that pathway leads to nothing.

then you shouldn't have lost very much, did you?

The file itself was deleted from both Adobe Animate and my computer entirely. Sorry for the poor phrasing. Is there a way to use that pathway to recover it, because whenever I use it in Finder, it's still not showing up?

what's the path in the recovery text file?

It says "/Users/*Usernamehere*/Downloads/RECOVER_*Filenamehere*fla".

you're posting contradictory info.
either your fla was saved at some time, or it was never saved (eg, it was created, you started working and the crash happened before it was ever saved).
which?

It was saved, but when the message appeared, it caused the file to automatically delete itself.

is anything in the folder where it was saved?

No.

then use a file recovery app.

Sorry, this happened to you. It happened to me too, that is why I always save different versions as I work the files so I always fall back.
