I can not find my timeline and tools! Is there a way to add them back or are they gone for good?

Go to the Window menu, Workspaces, and see what you have selected. You may have chosen Debug or Developer, try any of the other ones.
Just go to Window>Workspaces>Reset Essentials or whatever workspace you are using. That should fix it.
