Pasteboard custom colour?

In Animate CC 2019 is it possible to pick the colour of the pasteboard and have it be different from the stage? I've set my User Interface to Lightest but the pasteboard is a lot darker than all the previous versions of Flash/Animate. I know you can set it to be the same as the stage and then I could drop a background layer in but don't really want to have to do that each time. I just liked the light grey pasteboard for chucking things on sometimes.

Maybe there's a preference file that could be edited? I'm using mac.

does changing your ui shade change the pasteboard shade?

that's all you can control (and using the stage color as you noted).

Yes, on its darkest UI setting the pasteboard is practically black and on lightest its a mid grey. I like my pasteboard and would be nice if there was an easy fix to make it the old school light grey. A can work around it for now with the set to stage and dropping a white bg layer in on the stage.
