Probably easy question about multiple objets selection

Hello

I have looked at every topics in the forum on this matter and no one could answer my question.

It must be so basic and easy to solve...

I am using Flash CS4.

Since 2 weeks, here's what happens:

I select an objet, a brush drawing or a symbol, and then i select another objet and the first one is still selected !

As is I was pushing shift for a multiple objets selection.

Does anybody know how I can get back to a normal selection use ?

I have removed the preferences as you mentionned and it didn't change anything...

As for the Register key, I just couldn't delete it. It said "impossible"
