I'm working on an animation project that is quite intricate. It is complicated, with many symbols and layers... But it's organised and it's as complicated as it needs to be. It's not 'messy'. There are motion tweens, symbols comprising of 'puppets' with nested groups. The library is very organised with each necessary component accounted for and even renamed- there are no repeated/redundant items in the library.
I'm using a Macbook Air with 16GB RAM.
So far, I'm halfway through a 1 minute scene and Adobe Animate is crashing every time I try to export it. Up until a certain level of detail, it was fine and was exporting OK; but after adding a few more details, this problem started and has persisted - if I delete the added details, I can export once again. The issue seems to be associated with the complexity of the scene.
I was once told that this problem was related to my device not having sufficient RAM; however, when I open the device Activity Monitor interface, the memory used whilst attempting to export is not beyond the available memory. This seems to rule out an inssue relating to insiffucient RAM on my device.
I can export 10 seconds of the animation at a time. But this is extremely cumbersome. The ability to export it 10 seconds at a time also seems indicates that it's not an issue with some bug in the program or a glitch relatied the items I'm importing in to make the animation.
Does anyone have an understanding of why this may be occurring or what I could to overcome this problem?
Many thanks

what file type are you exporting?

it's probably a ram issue despite what activity monitor shows. you can test by using a computer with 32gb ram and see how far you get.

I shall try that. Is there anything else it could be?

I've tried it on the device of a friend. The device is 64GB RAM M1 Max Macbook Pro
So that confirms it's not a RAM issue. It seems to be a software bug - how do I go about addressing this?

on the friends computer, how many seconds could you export?

Nothing was exported. The programme crashed.
The programme crashed at 20%, whilst creating SWF...
This is the exact same point (20% whilst creatng SWF) at which Animate crashed with me, both this time and during previous times with different projects where it had begun to get too complicated.

A typical way out is to export a PNG sequence and WAV separately.
Then merge them into a video in Premiere.
PNG sequence export uses a different render mechanism and would most likely work when others fail.
To export, use File > Export > Export Movie... and for file type choose PNG Sequence.

Thanks for your advice, it does look like I'll have to explore other ways to achieve the effect I'm aiming for. It is quite disappointing, becuase this really does seem like a bug of sorts. I was in such a good flow with a system that worked for me, but now it looks like I'll have to change course.
I'll try to explore the advice you've shared and see if I can make it work for what I'm trying to achieve
