Property values change when editing the motion graph

hi,

while working on an animation I've been using the graph editor quite often and ran into the problem that sometimes (more often than not) when editing the graph e.g. of scaleY animate was changing the values of the scale on the keyframe directly before the currently selected and also the currently selected one.

has anybody run into this problem and maybe got a fix for it? some kind of setting in the preferences?

also, when editing e.g. the positionX graph, sometimes the positionY graph also randomly changes, which is pretty annoying...

there is also no way to edit posX and posY simultaneously, right?

best,

peter

Hi Peter,

Can you please share more knowledge about the graph editor?

Is this an inbuilt feature of Animate cc which I am not aware of?

Because I didn't find any relevant information regarding this on the internet as well.

Thanks,

Ankush

hi ankush,

yes, it is an inbuilt feature, according to different entries it's actually called "motion editor", opens up when you doubleclick on a motion tween, see below. I created a tween with 3 keys for position and scale, edited the curve for posX, after pulling out the handle for the last key I changed the tangents for the second, resulting in the last key basically being linear again.
