Streching or narrowing the layers in the timeline

Hi!

I am sure there is a way to stretch out or narrow down the existing layers in the timeline, but I can't seem to find it.

Instead of dragging the layers horizontally, I would like to stretch out the only beginning or the end of the layer, while the other end stays the same.

Normally software with layers has this ability, so I wonder if adobe animate does that.

Many thanks...

Hi.

I think I didn't quite get what you want.

Can you give us an example?

Regards,

JC

Thank you very much for your reply!

So, as you can see in the timeline, there is a layer called the background. I want to bring the layer a bit to the left and if I click the background and drag it the whole layer will move. and the end will need re-positioning again. So instead I am wondering if I can change the starting point of the layer.

Now it is on the 1840th framE but I want to take it to 1850 with and still stay at the 2350th

you don't want and you're not editing a layer.  you want to edit a keyframe (or keyframes).

eg, if you want to have that first tween start at frame 1850, drag the 1840 frame to 1850 and drop.  if you want that tween's end frame to stay where it is, you're done.  if you want that end frame to change (eg, so the tween is the same duration), drag and drop the end frame.
