Hello,
so in Adobe Animate, I am following along with a simple tutorial online on combining shape and motion tweens.
The setup is this:
I found an old thread that suggest switching the symbol type from movie clip to image, however that has not worked.
Pressing "Enter" is the main issue, "Ctrl" + "Enter" is fine.
I would appreciate any help,
Cheers,
Rury
You have to change the type of the instance on the stage, not in the library.

if you're trying to use a shape tween:
add an object (eg, rectangle) to frame 1
add a keyframe to frame 20
change the objects shape (using your mouse, for example) in frame 20
between frame 1 and 20, right click > add shape tween
test.

Movieclip symbols don't play when scrubbing the timeline in the IDE. Graphic symbols do.
Graphic symbols have a "Looping" property that can be set to Loop, Play Once, or Single Frame.

kglad - Inside "Edit Symbol" view it works perfectly, and if the animation is directly on the stage, it's perfectly happy.
ClayUUID - I saw that in a similar thread, but converting the Symbol type to "Graphic" didn't seem to do anything. I tried to locate the "Looping" option in the Properties panel, however it wasn't visible. Does the Symbol have to be made a "Graphic" from the start or should it happily switch?

do you see any problem when testing, ctrl-enter?

Spot on, thought that changing in the library would have a knock on effect on all related items (Kinda like in After Effects). Switched the specific instance and it worked perfectly.
