Hi all,
I have an app that I have been trying to publish to iPad. I have the certificate and provisioning created in Apple Dev account - all good. When I publish, Animate CC tells me it's successful, but there is no app on the iPad. So, I have no error to follow up. This is clearly a bug but I've tried contact Adobe support and realised now that Adobe policy is to answer the simplest, most generic questions, then ignore others.
Any help would be very gratefully received! I am next going to try to roll back to previous version of Animate in case it was simply the last update that is causing an issue.
Thanks!
Gary
**Rant alert** - Apologies but I need Adobe to read this bit
Dear Adobe - I tried twice to go through the official support. The first, Divya, requested a file, saying she would have an answer in 2-3 hours, then after 2 days I asked what was happening and she replied that there were errors (there weren't any, just a required folder had not been included). So I started again, this time with Shikha. After reading my problem she replied that "I should post on the forum because they are not trained in such things" .
When you charge a monthly subscription of nearly £50 per month, you have to provide support better than this.

attach a screenshot of your air for ios settings panel>publish showing your settings when publishing for testing on your ipad.
p.s. you can also use itunes program to add your a app to your ipad.

Thanks for your reply but I got to the bottom of it - I'll post in a moment.
I understand that you can use iTunes to publish (in fact I previously used Xcode as well) but this app uses video which needs to be included and I found you could only do this if all your required files were included in the publishing - with a lot of video this makes the install file enormous and take a very very long time.

I discovered that Animate CC reports a "success" on publishing to iOS devices when iTunes is not open, but does not actually publish to the device. When iTunes is open, Animate displays the same message but the app is actually published to the device.
Seems like a simple thing I know, but the message needs to be changed in Animate - at least to say "success but iTunes needs to be running"

Are you using Windows? I've never had to have iTunes open on Mac.

No. Mac. But now I'm thinking there's another cause - it seemed that there was an error syncing the iPad when connected to iTunes. When I disabled "Sync using Wi-Fi" then reconnected, I published it and the app published fine.
The issue at the bottom of all this though is that Animate CC doesn't report an error - it reports that the app was published successfully, so it's only guesswork as to what exactly / what combination of settings causes this.

Hi Gary,
I'm pretty much a newbie, on this forum for same reason as you. Would it be possible for you to post a step-by-step of how you resolved this (you may have mentioned you would before!).
. itunes = check
. animate cc = check
Do i need a paid Apple Developer licence or will free suffice?
P.s I am using a Windows
