Updating to CC 2017.2 Build 16.2.0.24

leaves this 'Did you know..' dialogue always visible at each startup, even after you have you dismissed it.

Anyone found a way to get rid of this ?

Others have already requested that the context sensitive help dialog have a setting in Preferences so you can disable them. If you want to make sure it has been requested you can request it too, here:

Colin, is this context sensitive help? It sits on top of my stage for ever until I dismiss it each time. I think that's pretty insensitive. Feels like a bug. is the same as the thing you are discussing? Anyway I will bug report it thanks.

I hoped there was a way to get rid of this particular update help box.

If you read what the dialog says, and think about what you had just been doing, hopefully there is some connection. That's the point of the box. Something though you may have selected the wrong tool briefly, and now you find yourself using the right tool and getting advice about the tool you had accidentally selected a moment ago.

The way it's done in SketchUp is better. I'll suggest that approach to them.

I'm not doing anything. I'm getting this dialogue right away at startup and then it stays there all the time, unless I dismiss it. If I dismiss it it comes back the next time I start Animate.

It feels like this is meant to tell us what has changed in this update. Remember, I described this happening after an update. But as a user I would assume such a 'things that have changed' message would not keep coming back each time I restart Animate and after I have chosen to dismiss it.

Things are worse than you think then. There is still a what's new animation in the startup window, and yes, there sometimes seems to be an initial bit of advice when you first start up. You'll find that the panel will come back while you are working, based on what you are doing.

I sent a screen recording of SketchUp to the Animate team for them to see how it could be done.

If there's no way to disable this "It looks like you're writing a letter!" training-wheel system, someone on the Animate team will need a stern talking to with a wet noodle.

This pop-up seemed to go away at some point, but unclear how or why. Anyway, just updated to 16.5.0.100 and it still seems to have gone.
