Why is Adobe Flash Player installed in Adobe Animate even when flash is dead?

How come Animate lets you make flash games and stuff even when Flash is dead?
And why?

flash online is dead.  otherwise, you are incorrect. as3 can be used to make mac and win os applications, as well as, android and ios applications.

So Flash is still usable (with Adobe Flash Player 35) but just not for the web, is what I am understanding.
Thank you for helping me as I was puzzled if Flash is dead in a way or not.

well, flash player has to be updated for 64 bit applications but otherwise, correct.
