I am a developer who heretofore has used Animate to export in swf format. This is obviously no longer an option, and we have since been concerting our fla files to canvas, and then publishing them as html files. The question I have is this.
Will Adobe Animate continue to let us author animation using the fla standards, or will that disappear? I realize the Flash Player is history, but I'm hoping the creation of fla animations will continue. Does anyone know?

FLA is literally the only source format Animate supports (well, XFL is just a deconstructed FLA), so what are you even asking? If you're asking if Adobe is going to discontinue Animate, that's a really cryptic way to phrase the question.

The only way you can author using Flash is if you obtain an old version before it was renamed to Animate. If you're running Animate, you're authoring using Animate.
And it's still perfectly possible to "export" (actually publish) SWFs. They just won't run in browsers anymore.
