Question

Will fla authoring continue to be supported?

I am a developer who heretofore has used Animate to export in swf format. This is obviously no longer an option, and we have since been concerting our fla files to canvas, and then publishing them as html files. The question I have is this.

Will Adobe Animate continue to let us author animation using the fla standards, or will that disappear? I realize the Flash Player is history, but I'm hoping the creation of fla animations will continue. Does anyone know?

    Hi Clay,

Thanks for your quick response. I think you just answered my question. It
sounds like as long as Animate is around (fingers crossed) it will be
possible to author using flash. Just not export swf files.

FLA is literally the only source format Animate supports (well, XFL is just a deconstructed FLA), so what are you even asking? If you're asking if Adobe is going to discontinue Animate, that's a really cryptic way to phrase the question.
