I'm new to animate and created a 2 minute animation and I use a different folder for each seen. When I press the play button on the timeline, everything looks how it's supposed to look in the preview screen. However, when I press "Test Movie," the background of the first scene (folder) is duplicated as a layer over all the other scenes. In the timeline it doesn't show it as this. I need help.

You keep saying scene but it sounds like you're not using scenes. Which is it?
