Add sparkle/twinkle effect

I'm not sure if i am posting in the right forum. But I created a graphic design in illustrator. I'm trying to make all those tiny pieces, like the stars and circles have a like a twinkle effect as if they were lights on a Christmas tree. I have practically no experience in adobe animate or after effects. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

you can tween the alpha of each object you want to "twinkle". 

importing each object into its own layer would be a good start because each object that you want to animate indendent of other objects needs to be in its own layer.
