Animate a bird to have flapping wings

Hi everyone, I am new to Animate, I have been asked to create an animated gif of a Hummingbird with flapping wings. The gif is to go on a charity website I volunteer for. I would love to help them out.  I have the Hummingbird in an Illustrator vector. Could someone point me in the right direction, please? Maybe some tutorials I could follow. Or perhaps there is another Adobe product that would also give me the effect. Many thanks, Sally

You could use photoshop and its timelime for create the gif.

Since you are using illlustrator you could export the frame to png or if you have layers properly done you could import your AI file into photoshop. Then you could work with the timeline to show and hide the layers as needed.

In my view, Animate is not the correct tool.

As resdesign pointed out for such a small job it may be an overkill to have to learn how to use Animate.

If you are familiar with Photoshop, you could do this simple task there.

A hummingbird in flight has literally blur for wings, so it's a matter of separating the body and creating some kind of blurry speed lines to get the effect.

In classic animation this type of fast movement used to be achieved by smearing paint with a dry brush.

Many years ago I wrote an article how to achieve a similar effect in Flash/Animate, but it can be applied to Illustrator or Photoshop as well.

Or you can just draw white speed lines and apply directional blur to them.
