Blur filter stopped by camera tool?

I rendered this scene a dozent of times but for some reason the blur I put on the background won't render.

Instead the background stays sharp. I have more scenes with blur in the background and the only difference ist the camera tool. So I think it is the camera tool, but I could be doing something wrong.

Anyone having the same issue or knows how to resolve it ?

Here is the .fla file

I suspect that the bitmap is too big to process in the close up shots.

Create a few duplicates of the MC that holds it. Then break apart the bitmap inside the MCs and clip what is outside of view - just select blocks with the V-tool and delete.

This will do the trick.

Filters have a certain pixel limitation. Forgot what it was.

Wonderful animation, BTW.

The Movie Clip container of your background, mate!

You know how the bitmap is nested inside a symbol?

Make a few duplicates of that symbol at various keyframes where you change the framing of the shot. Then they will be independent and you can clip the bitmap in different ways so that you don't have too much stuff outside of the frame.

If this is still not clear, let me know. I will do it on your file and upload somewhere.

V-Tool is the black arrow tool or Selection tool - V-Tool because the shortcut you call it with is V 🙂

I should apologise. Because your animation is so good I assumed you have been working in Flash for a long time and are comfortable with all the jargon. I should have used the formal terminology from the start.

No worrys, but using the V-Tools just selects the Bitmap.

I can't really cut it.

I tried converting it to a bitmap, but that doesn't seem to help.

Break it Apart, mate - Ctrl+B - I told you that in the first post 🙂

Then you can select and cut.
