Can't see what I am drawing in Animate

I am just getting started using Animate and I can't see the stage. I can see in the timeline that I am making circles or whatnot, but my screen is just a big white blank space. Is there some kind of setting I am not seeing? I am using version 20.0.1 on Windows 10.

There might be several issues.

If you are using the shapes then please check the fill and stroke color, it must not be empty or same color as of background.

Also when you select the fill or stroke color Alpha is set to 100%

And in case you are using the brush or pencil tool to draw set the color first.
