Drawing in animate

Hey, I've sorta figured out how to use the brushes in animate but. Every time I'm gonna draw a line whether it's normal brush, or paint brush. Before I let go of my brush stroke it shows my line as very small lines. and with normal brush a transparent version of my line I just wanted to know if i could turn that off.
