Hi,

We have a Flash application which invokes FileReference::save() method.

Environment:

OS X 10.11.1

Safari 9.0.1

Flash Player 19.0.0.425

Everything goes fine until we click the "OK" button on the file save pop-up window. The pop-up and safari just freeze.

We have to force quit it.

It works fine on

Chrome

Firefox with exactly same Flash Player 19.0.0.425

Safari with Flash Player debugger version 19.0.0.425 ! (this sounds impossible, but it is true)

Does anyone has any clue about this problem?

Or is there anyway to work around this issue?

Thanks.

Hi there

Our client is having this exact same issue.

OS X 10.11.1 (el capitan),

Safari 9.0.1.

when we invoke FileReference::save() in safari, it freezes when they select the save button. It works fine in Chrome. However, I am not seeing this issue at all on my end (same environment, OS X 10.11.1, safari 9.0.1).

The difference is our computers.

Mine is a MacBook Pro, using 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7,  16 GB 1600 Mhz RAM DDR3, and AMD Radeon R9 m370x 2048 MB

My client who is facing the freezes is using an iMac, 3.1 GhHz intel core i7, 16 GB 1600 Mhz RAM DDR3, and an NVidia GeForce GT 750M 1024 MB

My Client has reported the freezing on all of their work computers and even a home computer. I am working on getting the system specs if it is related to that.

We have not yet solved it

Hi,

as far as I tested, I found it has something to do with the Safari plugin settings.

You have to set your site address to "Allow Unsafe" in the settings.

And I found this bug is reported:

Bug#4068504 - Safari hangs on image save [El Capitan]

But until now, Adobe staff didn't make useful response to it.
