I was an avid user of Fireworks years ago and now it doesn't exist. Will any Adobe programs play the animations I created - or use the files from fireworks?

Unfortunately no other Adobe software supports Fireworks files, other than Fireworks itself.

There is a glimmer of light since a few months though: the developer of the online Photoshop 'clone' called Photopea added Fireworks file support, and it works quite well (not perfect, but workable).

Animations will not work, I believe.

If you are on Windows, it is still possible to find Fireworks in the list of older programs in the Adobe CC panel, and install it.
