How would I bend a line of an object?

Hey there, this is my first time using this sort of software for a class I'm taking. It's going well so far, but I'm stuck on how to bend a straight line, much like in the attached picture. When I hover my Selection Tool crusor along the edge, it doesn't give me the option to bend. Any advice you guys can give?

the screenshot you showed indicates you can bend that arc.

if that's screenshot is not what you see in animate, attach a screenshot showing what you see.
