HTML5 animation becomes slow on web page when you view it again after a few hours

I've created HTML5 animations using Animate and put them on a web page. They work fine initially but if you view an animation on a web page and then go to the web page again after a few hours, the animation runs slowly. What is the cause of this and what is the best way to fix it?
